The Via Dinarica promotes responsible tourism across the Western Balkans. The trail, which spans nearly 2,000 kilometers, is a cultural corridor and connects countries and communities along the Dinaric Alps and Sharr Mountain Range by spotlighting the region’s landscape and its diverse traditions.
Welcome to the Via Dinarica, named Outside magazine’s Best New Trail in 2014, Paste magazine’s best trekking path in 2015, a 2016 must-see by both Wanderlust magazine and The Guardian, and National Geographic Traveler‘s “Best of the World” destination for 2017 .
By finding this site, you have taken the first steps along this new mega-hiking route, which traverses the Dinaric Alps and Sharr Mountain Range in more than 120 stages and acts as an adventure and cultural corridor across Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia, Albania, and Macedonia.
On this website, you’ll find everything you need to learn about the trail and the region. Importantly, you’ll connect with professional outfitters with decades of experience in the Western Balkans. They can guide you through your journey and recommend others to do the same.
